somatic practice for pregnancy
somatic practice for pregnancy
- The classes and your openness to dialogue were so important. I had never seen an approach like yours, such a focus on feeling. Beside my pregnany and childbirth experience, they taught me lessons and a new sensibility for my entire life. (Silvia, Brasília)
The BIRTH IN MOTION approach for pregnant women focuses on proprioception and interoception (listening, feeling, experiencing), mobility (through the practice of movement and breathing), regulation of the nervous system (cultivating a state of calm and confidence) and preparation for childbirth (developing self-knowledge, protagonism and power).
This class provides balance of body and mind through somatic practice. We seek to support the physiological process of pregnancy and childbirth so that the gestating body can discover its internal spaces and the baby finds the best position in the mother’s womb while promoting comfort and facilitating labor.

- I am so, so grateful that I crossed paths with you and with these wonderful practices that you provide and with this amazing group. When I was 20 weeks pregnant, I searched the internet for online yoga practices; I had no idea of how much it could bring to our pregnancy and I didn't even imagine that there were practices like that - so structured, grounded and enriched with such a special way of thinking and feeling. I have learned so much and I am not talking only about factual knowledge, that today you can find on the internet, I speak of inner knowledge, knowledge that goes beyond the physiology of childbirth. Now reaching 40 weeks, I still have some fears, of course, but I know I wouldn't deal with those fears in the same way if I hadn't experienced these moments with you for the past 20 weeks. Saying thank you is too little to recognize the immense work you do, Anne. What a beautiful and important mission of yours. (Ana Raquel, Porto).
